Freelance Graphic Designer for Scientific Illustration

MindSpec, Inc. is seeking a graphic designer with an interest in scientific illustration.

Project Description
The project underway requires graphics support related to our online database. The graphic designer will provide illustrations and logos as needed for the database.

Qualifications

  • Skills required include Adobe’s Creative Suite applications for graphic and web designers, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign.
  • Background in web design and development.

Compensation
Payment will be on an hourly basis at $40 per hour.   Image design may be produced remotely, but some onsite interaction with MindSpec scientists at the McLean location will be necessary.

Bioinformatics Internships

Full-time or part-time Bioinformatics annotator internships / fellowship are available at MindSpec, Inc. We are seeking talented and motivated individuals interested in working in a multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities include participating in the annotation of disease-related information for data mining and visualization. The position offers an opportunity to work in the rapidly evolving area of multi-factorial disease biology in a flexible, dynamic research environment. Applicants must have or be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer
Science / Bioinformatics, or related field, with interest in human genetics. Working knowledge of multiple programming languages including Python and Java is essential.   Applicants should also have excellent written and oral communication skills with an enhanced ability to participate in team work.
