The Washington DC Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH is proud to present, Jon Anderson, an independent digital artist specializing in creating forensic demonstrative evidence and graphics for litigation.
Visual demonstratives used as evidence and as visual aids in forensic sciences and litigation enable expert witnesses and trial attorneys to explain complicated concepts that are easily digested by judges and juries. Mr. Anderson will be presenting case examples that show the power of using various 3d and 2d software packages in conventional and unconventional ways to produce admissible evidence for trials. He will present cases that make use of photogrammetry to uncover facts from photos, working with point cloud data from laser scans, drone footage, and publicly available USGS Lidar data to create quick visual forensic studies and scene modeling. He will cover examples of the types of graphics involved in Intellectual Property infringement cases. Mr. Anderson will also cover another area in trial graphics that focus on creating PowerPoint presentations for high stakes litigations involving disputes in contracts, tax and partner disputes. His discussion will cover some of the technical side of the work as well as covering the difference between being a production artist and a high valued expert consultant that provides graphic products as part of the overall deliverables.
The meeting will be hosted on the Zoom platform. A link to the meeting will be provided 15 minutes prior to the presentation to all those who have responded to the announcement on our MeetUp. The link will also be visible to those who RSVP. Those who do not RSVP to the MeetUp announcement will not receive the link to the meeting.
Please join us on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 7pm to 9pm EST online to learn more about forensic demonstrative evidence and graphics for litigation.
