The Washington DC Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH is proud to present, chapter members Jake Dean and Ian Dickson. Jake will present tips and tricks for developing a procedural landscape, then scattering trees on it, using Autodesk Maya with the Arnold Render. Ian will be showing how one of his projects was created using Houdini. Time permitting, there may even be an Affinity Designer demonstration. We will also announce our first chapter challenge for 2024.
The meeting will be hosted on the Zoom platform. A link to the meeting will be provided 5 minutes prior to the presentation to all those who have responded to the announcement on our MeetUp. The link will also be visible to those who RSVP. Those who do not RSVP to the MeetUp announcement will not receive the link to the meeting.

Biography – Jacob Dean
Jake Dean has more than 20 years of experience producing animation in the DC area. He’s made animation for clients such as NASA, EPA, GEICO, AOL Time Warner, Homeland Security and DARPA. Jake has produced campaigns for audiences of more than twenty million people and led creative efforts at a fortune 500 in-house agency. Favorite apps include Cinema 4D, Maya, Redshift and After Effects.
Biography – Ian Dickson
Ian Dickson is 2D and 3D motion designer currently working at Spire Communications on a variety of government, non-profit, and corporate clients. His main tools are After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Houdini.
